White Ink Hot Stamping vs. Heat Transfer Printing

2023-09-20 11:56:17

White ink hot stamping and heat transfer printing are two different printing methods that can be used to apply designs or patterns onto various surfaces.
White ink hot stamping is a process where a metallic or colored foil is heat transferred onto a surface using a heated die. The process involves applying heat and pressure to the foil, which causes the adhesive on the foil to bind with the surface, creating a permanent design.
White ink hot stamping is commonly used for adding metallic or solid color designs onto materials such as paper, cardboard, plastic, and leather. It can create a shiny, reflective finish and is often used for luxury packaging, labels, and promotional items.

Heat transfer printing, also known as sublimation printing, is a method where an image is printed onto a special transfer paper using special sublimation inks. The transfer paper is then applied to the surface using heat and pressure, causing the ink to sublimate and penetrate the surface of the material. This results in a vibrant and long-lasting image that becomes part of the material itself, rather than sitting on top of it.
Heat transfer printing is commonly used on fabrics, such as polyester or polymer-coated materials, to create custom apparel, sportswear, and promotional items.
In terms of connection, both white ink hot stamping and heat transfer printing are decorative printing techniques that involve the application of heat to transfer designs onto surfaces.
However, they differ in terms of the materials they can be used on, the type of ink or foil used, and the final appearance of the printed design. Each method has its own advantages and limitations, and the choice between them depends on factors such as the desired outcome, the type of material, and the production requirements.
